About NagorikBD
Built from Bangladesh. Designed for public interest.
A public-interest civic technology initiative exploring how artificial intelligence, data, open knowledge and digital systems can support citizens, communities and public institutions across Bangladesh.
NagorikBD is a public-interest civic technology initiative exploring how artificial intelligence, data, open knowledge and digital systems can support citizens, communities and public institutions across Bangladesh.
We build technology for real-world contexts — from climate-sensitive communities and disaster-prone regions to civic information, public participation and community-level response systems.
NagorikBD is an initiative of Atlas AI Institute, a Bangladesh-based global AI policy, governance and systems research and development organization.
Our Approach
A citizen-centered digital ecosystem.
Technology should not be designed only around institutions, platforms or abstract systems. It should begin with people.
Bangladesh-first
Designed around local realities, languages, geography and community contexts.
Context-sensitive
Different communities face different challenges. Technology should adapt to those realities.
Public-interest
Digital intelligence should create public value beyond commercial use cases.
Accessible
Essential information and civic tools should be easier for people to understand and use.
Implementation-oriented
Research should move beyond reports and contribute to practical systems.
Open and reusable
Knowledge, research and tools should create value beyond a single platform.
What We Focus On
Technology should serve people before systems.
NagorikBD works at the intersection of civic technology, artificial intelligence, climate resilience, public information and community participation.
Civic Intelligence
Helping citizens access and understand information about their communities and public issues.
Climate & Disaster Resilience
Building systems that help communities understand environmental risks and respond to emergencies.
Public Participation
Creating better pathways for citizens to engage with issues affecting their communities.
Open Knowledge
Supporting accessible research, books, policy knowledge and public resources.
Community-Level Technology
Exploring how digital systems can move beyond major cities and serve local communities.
Public-Interest AI
Developing AI applications that prioritize accessibility, social value and real-world impact.
How We Work
From research to shared knowledge.
01
Research the problem.
Understand the context.
02
Design the system.
Build for real users and real environments.
03
Implement the technology.
Move ideas into practical digital tools.
04
Learn from reality.
Measure, evaluate and improve.
05
Share the knowledge.
Make research, systems and lessons available for wider public benefit.
Our Belief
An informed citizen is the foundation of a resilient society.
Digital intelligence should not be concentrated only in large institutions, major cities or private platforms. It should be accessible to citizens, communities and local systems.
